It is with gratitude and sadness that the Board of Directors of Covenant Community Care announce the departure of our CEO, Paul Propson effective September 28, 2019. After twelve wonderful years, Paul’s time at Covenant has come to an end and he will be embarking on a new journey as CEO of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan.
Under his leadership, God’s blessings showered down on Covenant Community Care, in the form of many significant accomplishments, including:
- Receiving FQHC designation from HRSA
- Growing from one to six clinic locations in Southeast Michigan
- Expanding the scope of services beyond primary medical to include dental, behavioral health, optometry, substance use recovery, Health Care for the Homeless, Centering Pregnancy/Parenting
- Increasing the number of patients served annually from 1,000 to over 21,000
However, Paul’s most important legacy is not one of clinics, but of people. He has the rare ability to connect with people of all backgrounds, empower leaders, and nurture employees as they seek “to show and share the love of God with those who need it most.” His tireless work on behalf of Covenant and his unique brand of servant leadership will be greatly missed by staff, board, volunteers, and community partners alike, and is best expressed in a statement taken from his departure announcement… “it has truly been the greatest joy of my working life to serve with each of you.” Paul’s energy and devotion to the chief executive’s role will be difficult to match, but he leaves Covenant a better organization and on a strong footing for those who follow.
The Board of Directors will oversee the leadership transition process at Covenant Community Care, to include appointment of an interim CEO and creation of an executive search committee. During this period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while maintaining organizational stability and continuity of Covenant’s mission-centered work. We look forward to sharing developments regarding the search for a new chief executive officer and are confident that God will provide for Covenant Community Care just as He has from the beginning.
If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at email@example.com.
Sincerely, Dorlester (Dotti) Sharp
