Q&A w/ Rachel Campbell

Covenant Spotlight

Rachel Campbell, MSN, WHNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner

  1. Tell us about yourself.

I am originally from the Lansing area, and grew up in a small town (my dad’s family has a farm and they collect antique tractors!). Now I’ve found myself in the big city and love it! My husband I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. I graduated with my MSN degree from Drexel University in 2019, so I finally have free time again. When I’m not spending time with friends, family or our church community, I enjoy cooking, baking, traveling, reading, and visiting museums.

  2. When is your Birthday?

March 30. Every now and then I’m lucky enough to get a beautiful spring day or have Easter fall on my birthday, but usually the weather is cold and nasty!

  3. Fun fact about you!

I’m a lefty! I like to think that’s why I was never very good at sports growing up, but I’m sure that’s debatable 🙂

  4. What were you doing before working at Covenant Community Care?

I worked as a Registered Nurse at the University of Michigan Health System (go Blue!)

  5. How did you get connected with Covenant Community Care and/or find out about it?

I always felt called to work in health center setting, so even while I was working in the hospital I wanted a way to get connected and give back. I did a web search and found Covenant, and actually started here as a volunteer. I would come to our Michigan Ave. site on my days off to help patients get their medications for through patient assistance programs.

  6. How long have you been working at Covenant Community Care?

    7 years

  7. What is it about Covenant Community Care that keeps you here?

Ah, there are so many things! There is a great sense of community and shared purpose amongst our staff, and I am thankful to work alongside such talented and passionate people. I love the diversity of the metro-Detroit area and the fact that we have patients from all different backgrounds and cultures.  Working in our pregnancy center, I love seeing a woman’s face light up when she hears her baby’s heartbeat for the first time. It’s an honor and privilege to be a small part of what God is doing in the Detroit area.
