Q&A w/ Amanda Lira

Covenant Spotlight

Amanda Lira

HEDIS Quality Support Coordinator

1. Tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. I come from a Migrant family that worked in the Campos (fields) picking tomatoes, cucumbers, so traveling and coming up north was so common to me. I moved to Detroit in 2009. Now the city life is so different but I enjoy it. I love bonding with my son, the light of my eyes, my pride, and joy. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

2. Fun fact about you!

I have one of the funniest laughs according to everyone that knows me and I always have a smile on my face.

3. What were you doing before working at Covenant Community Care?

I was a full-time mommy and enjoyed every bit of it. I literally went to every school field trip my son had when he started pre-kindergarten.

4. How did you get connected with Covenant Community Care and/or find out about it?

I was familiar with another clinic similar to Covenant. Thanks to my sister and a friend of mine, I was able to step foot into Covenant.

5. How long have you been working at Covenant Community Care?

Going on 4 years.

6. What is it about Covenant Community Care that keeps you here?

Everything – the staff, doctors, and my supervisor. I found a home here in Covenant, I love it here. Having that satisfaction of getting home and knowing you were able to help a person in need is priceless. It’s an honor for me to be able to work for Covenant and serve the community.
