Kai Palm, MD
1. Tell us about yourself.
I have been married to Julian for 16 years and God has blessed us with the responsibility of raising two children. We have a 7-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. I enjoy spending time with my family and active outings such as hikes, walks, or bike rides.
2. Fun fact about you!
I enjoy a variety of music with the top being Gospel and Neo-soul. Something some may say is surprising is that in college I enjoyed Country music and Line Dancing.
3. What were you doing before working at Covenant Community Care?
I came to Covenant after completing a 3-year family medicine residency at St. John Providence Hospital in Southfield.
4. How did you get connected with Covenant Community Care and/or find out about it?
I first heard about Covenant in medical school as a volunteering option through CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association). I began volunteering in 2005 with Dr. Lydia Best; which continued throughout 4 years of medical school. After completing residency it was time to look for a job and I came across a job posting for Covenant which I was excited to see as I truly enjoyed my time spent here during medical school.
5. How long have you been working at Covenant Community Care?
I started my career with Covenant in November 2012. Since that time I have had the opportunity to work at Michigan Avenue, Moross (in the trailer before the current building was in place), and finally Joy-Southfield.
6. What is it about Covenant Community Care that keeps you here?
Just as patients tell me they feel a sense of peace when they come to Covenant Joy-Southfield, I felt that same peace when I visited Covenant as a volunteer. I could see God’s hand in the care that was being provided here and I wanted to be a part of doing God’s work in this way.
